What makes a good Quest?
What makes a good Quest?
A Quest is a well-defined AI, data-science, automation, or digital-tool opportunity that can be completed by an individual student or student team within an estimated 5–60 hours.
Good Quest proposals usually:
Address a real need for a university unit or program
Have a clear potential user or audience
Can be completed as a bounded project
Use data or systems that can legally and safely be made available
Produce a useful prototype, analysis, workflow, or tool
Note: You do not need to know the final technical solution. Describe the problem, desired outcome, available resources, and constraints. The AI Hub and AI Makerspace will help determine feasibility and scope.

Submit a Quest proposal
Describe the problem, opportunity, useres, timeline, and available resources.

Review and refinement
AI Hub and CSE AI Makerspace leadership review the proposal, clarify requirements, and determine whether it is appropriate for the program.

Tiering and publication
An approved Quest is assigned a Bronze, Silver, or Gold tier based on complexity and estimated hours. Public information is then posted in the Quest catalog.

Student applications and completion
Students or teams apply, complete the approved Quest, and receive evaluation for potential tuition credit paid for by the AI Hub.
